In this article, we will be talking about what to wear when going to Morocco, what to put in the suitcase for Morocco holiday, how women should dress in Morocco, how men should dress in Morocco.

Morocco is a unique destination in every sense of the word. A country of cosmopolitan and historic cities, rugged mountainous valleys, endless deserts and stunning coastlines stretching from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea.

The official state religion of Morocco is Islam and 93% of the population is considered to be religious. The majority are Sunni Muslims. This means that most women cover their shoulders, knees and usually their hair, and some women even wear a burqa when going out.

For this reason, as a woman travelling in Morocco, it will make you feel better if you cover your shoulders and knees. When visiting a religious building, we will cover our heads, so it is useful to have a scarf with you (the only mosque you can visit in Morocco is the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca).

Considering all these factors, it can be difficult to determine what to wear and what to take with you in Morocco.

That’s why I have prepared a packing list for Morocco that goes beyond what you should take with you for a typical trip abroad.

What should you take with you to Morocco?

When visiting Morocco, in addition to cultural requirements, it is important to think about the clothes that will protect you against changing weather conditions. No matter what season you are in, you should take warm clothes with you and be prepared for all weather conditions.

You can sweat from the heat in the souks of Marrakech and get cold at night in the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert. You may have heard of desert cold, at night the temperature can drop to 0 degrees Celsius!

How should women dress in Morocco?

Compared to most Muslim countries, female tourists in Morocco are generally more relaxed in terms of clothing.

While the main tourist areas are generally accepting of foreigners’ style of dress, some rural areas you visit may be a little prejudiced against open dress. There is therefore a dress code that tourists should consider.

When deciding what to wear as a woman in Morocco, it is important that you favour a little conservatism. You don’t have to worry about covering your hair, but you should pay attention to the following recommendations.

• Try to cover your shoulders, knees, chest and belly as much as possible. In touristy places like Marrakech or in the desert it will not be a problem, but in small villages you may need to cover yourself with a shawl if you are dressed too revealing.
• Make your clothes loose and draped. Avoid tight tops and trousers. This is also important if you are travelling as a single woman. No need to worry when travelling in a group.
• Avoid deep cleavage, short shorts and skirts. Unfortunately, men in Morocco may perceive this as an invitation. Again, if you are travelling alone, I recommend you to pay attention to this.

However, you can dress much more freely when travelling with your boyfriend or in a group. I can say that these suggestions are more for women travelling solo.

By the way, if you are thinking of buying jewellery in Morocco, be careful not to put too much jewellery from home in your suitcase, because we will find incredibly beautiful jewellery in the bazaars of Fez, Chefchaouen, Marrakech. Then you will complain that you have no space, I’m telling you :p

How Should Men Dress in Morocco?

Men do not have to pay attention to the same sensitivities as women when travelling in a conservative country like Morocco. However, it is still necessary to pay attention to some things.

Men in Morocco generally dress modestly and avoid appearing untidy or too casual in public. Moroccan men avoid ostentatious displays of brand names, logos, jewellery or state-of-the-art electronic devices.

Of course, these are not necessary rules for tourists, but it is useful to know.

In general, it is sufficient for men to follow the following recommendations.

• In general, men should prefer long trousers, shirts or T-shirts.
• Long shorts can be worn in hot weather, but long trousers are required in mosques.
• Note that in some rural areas shorts are considered underwear 🙂

Indispensables of Moroccan Outfits for Men and Women

• Sun hat: After all, we are in Africa. The sun hits us differently here, hats are important
• Winter beanie: If you are planning to visit the Atlas Mountains or the Sahara Desert, a warm beanie is a good idea for the cold weather in the morning and at night.
• Scarf: A lightweight scarf, useful for both men and women, is essential in the Sahara to keep the sun and sand off your face. It can also be used when visiting mosques and religious sites.
• Swimwear: Bring a swimsuit to cool off in hotel and riad pools.

Best Shoes for Morocco:

• Sandals Sandals are preferable in hot weather. However, make sure they are comfortable for a long walk.
• A shoe suitable for walking: When exploring cities and especially old towns, the streets can be a bit bumpy. You should bring a shoe suitable for walking
• Sports shoes: Trainers can be suitable for many activities in Morocco. They will provide comfort, especially in areas such as the Atlas Mountains or the Sahara.
• Flip flops: Flip flops can come in handy, especially if you plan to visit a hammam or spend time at the pool/beach.

Seasonal Requirements for Morocco:

Summer – June – August:

• Sun protection: A large hat and sunglasses
• Cool clothes Choose loose, breathable clothing
• Light jacket For cool evenings at high altitudes or in desert areas, bring a light jacket.
• Long clothes: Choose long shorts that cover the knees and shoulders for women and long shorts for men.

Winter – November – February:

• Warm clothes: Take a warm jacket and underwear.
• Windbreaker: In coastal areas, wear a windbreaker against windy weather.
• Closed shoes and socks: Closed-toed shoes and socks will be needed.
• Beanie and scarf: Keep a woollen beanie and scarf for the head and neck on cold days.

Spring – mid-March – May | Autumn – September – October:

• Jacket or windbreaker for the evening: Keep a jacket or windbreaker for the evening as it can get chilly at night.
• Cool clothes: Take loose, breathable clothing that will keep you cool during the day.
• Both open and closed shoes: You can choose between sandals and closed shoes. As long as they are suitable for walking.
• For desert travelling: Take a scarf to tie around your face to keep the blowing sand at bay.
• Mosquitoes: Remember to use mosquito repellent containing DEET to prevent mosquito bites.

Choosing the Right Suitcase for Morocco Travel

When visiting Morocco, it is important to choose a practical and manoeuvrable luggage. Especially if you will be staying in Medinas such as Marrakech or Fez, you should consider easy portability. Since vehicle access to the Medinas is limited, you may need to carry your luggage to your accommodation.

Places like Fez in particular can be challenging with large suitcases due to the stairs and narrow streets. Also, the roads of the Medinas can be littered with donkey faeces, so it is important to choose a sturdy bag.

Opt for a bag with sturdy wheels and preferably one that can be towed on two wheels. Or a large rucksack may be more practical.

Backpack and Day Bag for Travelling in Morocco

A day bag is also very important for travelling to Morocco. In addition to daily use, you may need to leave your suitcase and take only the necessary items, especially in cases such as camel trekking at night in the Sahara Desert.

You can choose a lightweight and foldable backpack. Especially for busy cities and tourist areas, a backpack with anti-theft features should be preferred.

Petty crime is quite common in Morocco’s big cities and tourist areas, so it is important to be careful. It will be useful to buy a crossbody bag with zip pockets.

A lightweight fanny pack is ideal for travelling, especially in crowded souks or night outings.

Power Adapters and Portable Chargers for Travelling in Morocco:

In Morocco 220V voltage and 50Hz, type C and E sockets with two circular terminals are used. Therefore, it is compatible with the adapters we use in Europe and Turkey.

However, I recommend bringing a powerbank with you when travelling. It will be especially useful for charging your devices in the absence of electricity, for example in the Sahara Desert.

Travel Water Bottle for Travelling in Morocco:

Drinking tap water is not recommended in Morocco. Therefore, it is very important to have a water bottle with you while travelling. Instead of buying plastic bottles of water every day, it will be more economical and environmentally friendly to keep a large water bottle in your hotel room and car and fill it every day.

Medicines and personal items for travelling to Morocco:

When travelling to foreign countries, it is important to be prepared to meet your health and personal needs. I suggest you think about the medicines and personal items you should have with you throughout your trip.

When it comes to essential medicines, the medicines you should include in your travel bag include painkillers such as paracetamol or aspirin, tablets against motion sickness and anti-diarrhoea pills. I also recommend having a first aid kit with you in case of emergencies.

Preparing a medicine kit to meet your personal health needs while travelling will help you to be prepared for unexpected health problems.

Personal items for travelling to Morocco:

When travelling to Morocco, do not forget to bring products such as sunscreen and mosquito repellent. These products can be quite expensive in Morocco.

Practical solutions such as insect repellent wristbands can also be useful while travelling. Such products are ideal if you do not want to use sprays and want to avoid fluid restrictions when travelling by plane.

It is also important to take some of the items you need with you before travelling, bearing in mind that you may not be able to find them easily in Morocco. In particular, I recommend bringing essentials such as hygiene products. You may not always have access to these products, so be sure to take them with you before travelling.

Other personal items may include a bath towel, a small mirror, toiletries, shaving equipment and a sewing kit including safety pins.

Travel Size Wipes and Hand Sanitiser for Morocco Travel:

While travelling in Morocco, you should be prepared for situations where you may encounter toilet and hygiene issues. Especially considering the difficulties you may encounter during train journeys and general toilet use, you should keep a small pack of travel wipes in your bag. This will also come in handy when you cannot find toilet paper.

Also, hand sanitiser is another important item you should have with you. Hand sanitiser will be especially useful when you eat on the street or clean your hands in unhygienic environments.

Ear Plugs for Travelling in Morocco:

When travelling in Morocco, you will have long car journeys. If you want to sleep during these journeys, ear plugs can be useful for you. You can also use earplugs to have a comfortable sleep at night and not wake up with the morning call to prayer.

Travel Umbrella for Travelling to Morocco:

If you plan to visit Morocco during the rainy season, you should take a sturdy travel umbrella or raincoat. Especially during the rainy period between October and April, you may encounter sudden rains. Besides that, the umbrella can also be used to block the sun’s rays, so a travel umbrella can benefit you at any time of the year.

Moroccan Dirham for Travelling to Morocco:

The use of cash is quite common in Morocco and credit cards may not be accepted in many places. For this reason, it is necessary to get some Moroccan dirham at the airport or exchange offices as soon as you arrive in Morocco.

The dirham is the official currency of Morocco and is only valid within Morocco. It cannot be exchanged or used in other countries. For this reason, be careful not to carry too much cash during your trip and take as much as you need. At the end of your trip, you can convert the remaining dirhams back into foreign currency at the exchange bureaus at the airport with the currency exchange certificate you received upon arrival.

Öncelikle İsviçre’de çalışmak, İsviçre’de iş bulmak, Avrupa’daki diğer ülkelerde iş bulmaktan bir tık zor. Çünkü firmaların sizi işe alması, kabul etmesi yetmiyor.

Siz firmayla tüm şartlarda anlaştınız diyelim, firma sizinle çalışmaya çok hevesli. Bu aşamada işverenin göçmen ofisine sizin adınıza başvuru yapması ve sizinle çalışıp çalışamayacağını resmi olarak sorması gerekiyor.

Bu aşamada göçmenlik ofisi firmayı şu soruları yöneltiyor. ‘’Bu kişiyi neden işe alıyorsun? Bu kişinin yapacağı işi bir İsviçreli yapabilir mi? Yapabilirse önce İsviçreli birini bu pozisyona aramalısın.’’

Diyelim ki İsviçreli birinin yapabileceği bir iş değil. Bu durumda da göçmenlik ofisi firmaya şu soruyu yöneltecek. ‘’O halde bu işi bir Avrupa Birliği vatandaşı yapabilir mi? Neden AB vatandaşı olmayan birine ihtiyacın var? Bu Türk, bir İsviçrelinin ya da bir Avrupalının yapamayacağı neyi yapabilecek?’’

Tüm bu sorulara anlaştığınız firmanın öyle bir cevap vermesi gerekli ki, göçmenlik ofisi sizin ile girmeniz konusunda firmaya onay vermeli. İşte bu sebeple her yerde İsviçre’de iş bulmanın zorluklarından bahsediliyor. Yani aslında iş bulmak çok büyük sıkıntı değil, asıl sorun devletin maalesef İsviçre vatandaşları ve AB üyesi ülkeler dışından ülkeye giriş istememesi. İsviçre’de 4 resmi dil var: Almanca, Fransızca, İtalyanca ve Romanşça. Federal hükümet bu 4 dili de kullanmak zorunda ve hatta meclis toplantılarında 4 dilde de eş zamanlı olarak çeviri yapılıyor.

En yaygın dil nüfusun %64’ünün konuştuğu Almanca. Hemen ardındansa %24 gibi bir oranla Fransızca geliyor. İtalyanca konuşan nüfus sayısı %9 civarındayken, Romanşça, yalnızca kanton Graubünden’de nüfusun %0.5’i tarafından konuşuluyor (ki bu hepi topu 50.000 kişi gibi bir şey).

4 resmi dilin olması yetmiyor tabi, bir de her bir dilin ayrı bir lehçesi bulunuyor ve hepsi başlı başına birer dil desek çok isabetli olur. Resmi makamlarda, gazetelerde, radyo ve televizyonda standart Almanca, Fransızca, İtalyanca ve Romanşça kullanılırken, her bölgede halkın kendi içinde konuştuğu dil farklılık gösteriyor.

Dolayısıyla iş yerinde konuşulacak dil de hangi kantonda olduğunuza göre değişiyor. Alman kantonlarında Almanca, Fransız kantonlarında Fransızca ve İtalyan kantonlarında İtalyanca bilmeniz %80 şart. Geriye kalan %20’lik kesimde ise İngilizce ve ek dillerle iş bulmanız mümkün.

Mesela ben iş yerinde yalnızca İngilizce ve Türkçe konuşuyorum. Almanca veya diğer dilleri kullanmıyorum, bilsem de benim yaptığım işte işime yaramazdı.

İsviçre’de Sadece İngilizce Bilerek İş Bulabilir miyim?

Evet. Sadece İngilizce bilerek iş bulmak, İsviçre’de çalışmak mümkün. Ama sadece İngilizce ile iş bulmak için bunun yanında başka vasıflarınızın da olması şart. İngilizce bilerek Finans, IT sektörlerinde çalışabilirsiniz. Ama sağlık sektöründe, turizm sektöründe iş bulamazsınız. Beyaz yakalı iseniz iş bulabiliyorsunuz kısacası. Ancak iş diğer insanlarla iletişime geçeceğiniz, insanlarla konuşmak üzerine bir iş ise genelde Almanca, Fransızca ya da İtalyanca şart oluyor.

Benim çalıştığım firmada herkes İngilizce konuşuyor. Bir finans firmasında satış görevlisi olarak çalışıyorum ve satış yaptığım ülke Türkiye. Dolayısıyla gün içinde müşterilerimde sürekli Türkçe konuşuyorum. Ofiste ise iş arkadaşlarımla İngilizce konuşuyorum. Siz de bu tarz bir iş bularak yalnızca İngilizce bilerek işinizi yapabilirsiniz.

İsviçre’de Çalışmak İçin Hangi Seviyede Almanca Bilmeliyim?

İsviçre’de Almanca bilginizle bir iş bulmak istiyorsanız resmi olarak B2 seviyesinde Almanca bilmeniz gerekiyor. Ancak bu her zaman şirkete, işin türüne ve pozisyona bağlı olacaktır. Bazı işlere B1 seviye Almanca ile girebilecekken, kimi için ana dil Almanca şartı aranmaktadır. Tamamen değişiklik gösteriyor yani duruma göre.

Bu arada yukarıda belirttiğim gibi, iş arayacağınız kantona göre değişiyor bilmeniz gereken dil. Eğer Fransız kantonlarda iş arayacaksanız B2 seviye Fransızca ve İtalyan kantonlarda iş arayacaksanız B2 seviye İtalyanca gerekmektedir.

Kimi iş yerlerinde Almancaya ek olarak Fransızca ya da İtalyanca, İtalyancaya ek olarak Almanca, Almancaya ek olarak İngilizce gibi şartlar aranıyor. İsviçre çok dilli bir ülke olduğu için kimi zaman tek bir dil bilmek maalesef yeterli olmayabiliyor.

İsviçre’de Çalışmak için Almanca mı, Fransızca mı yoksa İtalyanca mı daha faydalı?

Kesinlikle Almanca İsviçre’de en işinize yarayacak dildir diyebiliriz. Ülke nüfusunun çoğu Alman kantonlarında yaşamakta olup, en çok iş imkanı Alman kantonlarda mevcut. Aynı zamanda Alman kantonlar, diğer dillerin konuşulduğu kantonlara göre çok daha yüksek maaş veriyor. Sıralayacak olursak en çok iş imkanı olan ve en yüksek maaşları veren kantonları şu şekilde sıralayabiliriz.

İsviçre’de İş Başvuruları Nasıl Yapılır?

İsviçre’de size uygun bir iş bulduğunuzda, başvurunuzun değerlendirileceğinden emin olmak için İsviçre standartlarında bir özgeçmiş ve motivasyon yazısı (Cover Letter) hazırlamanız gerekiyor. Bazı iş başvurularında alternatif belgeler istenebilir ancak genel olarak hazırlamanız gereken temel iki belge CV ve Cover Letter‘dır.

Başvuru yaparken bilmeniz gereken en önemli şey, sadece CV göndererek yapacağınız başvurular çoğu zaman yapay zeka tarafından direkt elenecektir. Yani CV’niz insan kaynakları tarafından görüntülenmeyecektir bile. Mutlaka ‘’Cover Letter’’ hazırlamanız gerek.

Cover Letter da başvuru yaptığınız firmaya yazdığınız, neden o firmada çalışmak istediğinizi, firmaya neler katabileceğinizi anlattığınız tek sayfalık bir mektup.

Eğer daha büyük bir şans yakalamak isterseniz her firmaya ayrı ayrı Cover Letter yazmanızı tavsiye ederim. Ama tek bir Cover Letter hazırlayıp, başvuru yaptığınız firmaya göre mektupta birkaç değişiklik yaparak güncelleyebilirsiniz her seferinde.

İsviçre’de İş Mülakat Süreci Nasıldır?

İsviçreli işverenlerle yapılan görüşmeler aslında Türkiye’deki iş görüşmelerine benziyor. En büyük farkı sürecin çok daha uzun sürmesi olabilir. Mülakatlar bazen 3 bazen 4, bazen daha fazla seanslar şeklinde düzenlenir. Tek bir kişi ile görüşmezsiniz.

İşverenlerin mülakatlarda sorduğu bazı sorular alışkın olduğunuzdan daha kişisel olabilir. Evli misiniz? Çocuğunuz var mı? Yakın zamanda çocuk yapmayı planlıyor musunuz? Psikolojik rahatsızlığınız var mı? Migren gibi sizi işten zaman zaman alıkoyacak hastalıklarınız var mı? gibi sorular sorulabilir.

Bazı büyük şirketlerde başvuru süreci psikometrik test ve değerlendirmeyi içerebilir. Bu genellikle görüşme aşamasında gerçekleşir.

Şirketler onlar hakkında ne kadar araştırma yaptığınızı, firma hakkında ne kadar bilgi sahibi olduğunuzu bilmek ister. Bu sebeple mülakattan önce firma hakkında mutlaka fikir edinin. Hatta gerekirse firmanın yaptığı faaliyetlerden neleri beğendiğinizi, neleri eleştirdiğinizi ve bu eleştirdiğiniz şeyi nasıl daha iyi hale getirebileceğinizden bile bahsedebilirsiniz.

İlk mülakat genellikle İnsan Kaynakları ile olur. İkinci mülakat departmandan iş arkadaşlarınızla, üçüncü mülakat müdürünüz olacak kişiyle, dördüncü mülakat ise daha yüksek mertebede bir yöneticiyle olur. Bazen tek tek, bazen herkesin bir arada olduğu komite şeklinde mülakatlara girebilirsiniz.

Ancak korkmayın, ne kadar rahat olursanız o kadar çok şansınız olacaktır. İsviçre’de resmiyet önemlidir ancak dozunu aşmadan samimi hareketler de kabul görür.

Şirket sizi beğenir ve iş teklif ederse, önceki işverenlerden, yöneticilerden 2-3 iyi iş referansı sağlamanız gerekecektir. Bu referanslar tek sayfa ve önceki iş yerlerinizdeki iş verenleriniz tarafından yazılmış ve imzalanmış olmalırdır.

Varsa diplamalarınızı, eğitim durumunuzu gösteren belgeleri de teslim etmeniz gerekiyor.

Bunun dışında ek belge istenirse sizinle yeniden iletişime geçilecektir.

İsviçre’ye Çalışmak İçin Nasıl Gidilir?

İsviçre’de çalışabilmek için oturum ve çalışma iznine ihtiyacınız var. Bu izinler çalışacağınız ve yaşayacağınız kantonların Göçmenlik Ofisleri tarafından verilmektedir. Gerekli evraklarınızla ilgili kantonun göçmenlik ofisine başvurmanız gerekiyor. Akabinde birkaç haftalık bazen 1 aylık bir sürenin ardından oturum izniniz veriliyor.

İsviçre’de Çalışma Vizesi Hangileridir?

İki tip izin çeşidi var.

• Bunlardan birisi kısa süreli (1 senelik) L tipi vizeler.

• Diğeri uzun süreli B tipi vizeler

• Ve de süresiz C tipi izinlerdir.

İsviçre’de Oturum İzni Nasıl Alınır?

Öncelikle çalışma vizesi çıkarmanız gerekiyor. Bunu İsviçre konsolosluğuna direkt olarak başvuru yaparak almanız gerek.

İsviçre’ye çalışma vizeniz ile geldikten sonra ise İsviçre oturum izni alma işlemleri ülkeye girdikten sonraki 14 gün içerisinde tamamlanmalıdır.

Oturum izni başvurusu yapacak kişinin göçmenlik bürosuna başvurması ve oturum izni için randevu alarak, randevu günü oturum izni prosedürüne uygun gerekli evrakları teslim etmesi gerekmektedir.

İsviçre’de Hangi İş Yapılır?

Yukarıda bu sorunun cevabını paylaşmıştım. Aslında İsviçre’de de her iş yapılır ancak en ihtiyaç duyulan meslekler yukarıdaki gibidir.

İsviçre’de Günde Kaç Saat Çalışılıyor?

İsviçre iş kanununa göre normal çalışma saatleri haftada en fazla 45 saat olmalıdır. Bu da günde 9 saate tekabül ediyor. Bu 9 saate öğle molası dahildir.

Ancak İsviçre’de çalışma saatleri işverene, pozisyona ve çalışılan sektöre göre değişiklik gösterebilir. Örneğin, tam zamanlı görevlerde bulunan kişiler genellikle haftada ortalama 41 saat çalışır. Öte yandan, bankacılık gibi özel sektördeki endüstriler, haftada 42 saat civarında daha uzun saatler çalışma eğilimindedir. Hastaneler, catering ve oteller ise ortalama 45-48 arasında olmasına rağmen haftada 60 saate kadar çalışabilir. 

Bir iş gününde, en az 30 dakikalık öğle yemeği molaları da verilecektir. Ancak, bazı şirketler, öğle yemeğinin yaklaşık bir buçuk saat olmasını bekliyor. Bu nedenle, süre genellikle işverene bağlıdır.

İsviçreli işçiler de fazladan çalışma eğilimindedir. Sözleşmeli azami çalışma saatleri aşıldığında ekstra saatler uygulanır. Ve tabii ki, işverenlere ekstra saatler için standart saatlik ücretlerinin %25 üzerinde ödeme yapılır. Bazen ekstra saatler karşılığı ücret alınmaz, bunun yerine ekstra saatler tatil olarak alınır.

İsviçre’de Senelik İzin Kaç Gün?

Şu anda, İsviçre’deki yasal minimum tatil sayısı yılda 5 hafta (25 gün) veya 6 haftadır. Ancak, sözleşmeler, bireysel veya toplu, daha yüksek bir sayı sağlayabilir. 50 yaşın üzerindeki çalışanlara genellikle daha fazla ücretli izin verilir.

İsviçre’de Asgari Ücret Nedir?

İsviçre’de net asgari ücret bulunmaz. Ancak istatistiklere göre İsviçre’de asgari saatlik ücret 20 Frank’tır. Ortalamaya bakıldığında ise İsviçre’de çalışanların ortalama 60 frank aldığı görülüyor. Bu ücretler kantondan kantona, şehirden şehre değişir. Ayrıca yaşadığınız kantonun vergi oranına göre de bu rakam değişecektir.

Aylık olarak bakıldığında İsviçre’de çalışanların aldığı ortalama asgari ücret net 4000 İsviçre Frangı’dır.

İsviçre Çalışma Vizesi Nasıl Alınır?

İsviçre çalışma vizesi için önce İsviçre’de faaliyet gösteren bir şirket ile iş sözleşmesi yapmanız ve iş daveti almış olmanız gerekiyor. Şirketten gelen davet mektubunda; hangi pozisyonda, ne kadar süre ile şirkette çalışacağınız, her ay ne kadar maaş alacağınız belirtilmelidir. Çalışacağınız yer ile ikamet edeceğiniz yer arası uzak ise yol ve yemek karşılanıp karşılanmadığı belirtilmelidir.

İsviçre çalışma izni başvurunuz İsviçre’deki yetkili olan kantona, yani yaşayacağınız yerin göçmenlik bürosuna gönderilecektir. İsviçre Başkonsolosluğu, yetkili kantondaki göçmenlik bürosu onaylamadığı takdirde talep edilen çalışma vizesine onay verememektedir.

Çalışma vizesinin çıkma süreci 8-10 hafta arasında sürebilmektedir.

İsviçre’de Çalışma Hakları Nasıldır?

İsviçreliler çalışan haklarına büyük önem verir. Çalışma saatlerinizden fazla çalıştığınız zaman bu saatler size ya ödenir, ya da tatil olarak almanız istenir.

Kaza sigortanızı şirket yapar. Herhangi bir kaza geçirdiğinizde hiçbir ücret ödemezsiniz.

Hastalanmalarda, en ufak şikayetlerinizde çalışmaya ara verebilirsiniz. Doktor raporu almadan 3 güne kadar evde istirahat edebilirsiniz.

İsviçreliler işte sosyalleşmeye çok önem verir. Mutlaka düzenli olarak sosyal aktiviteler düzenlenir ve bu aktivitelere katılım sağlamanız beklenir.

Eğer iş yerinde size mobbing uygulandığını hissederseniz, mobbing ile ilgili mercilere başvurabilirsiniz. Bu konu iş yerlerince çok ciddiye alınır.

2018 senesinde, ilk İngiltere seyahatim öncesinde Londra hakkında ne biliyorum? İngilizce konuşuyorlar. Direksiyon sağda, arabalar soldan gidiyor. Hepsi kendini bir şey sanıyor, dünyanın en iyi ırkı oldukları konusunda hepsi hemfikir. Mutfaklarında yok denecek kadar az yemek var. Ülkede İngilizden çok Hint, Pakistanlı, biraz da Arap var. Stefano’nun benden önceki sevgilisi İngiliz ve 4 yıl boyunca birliktelermiş. Biz Türkler için Almanya neyse, İtalyanlar için de İngiltere o, daha iyi iş imkanları için göç etmeyi düşündükleri ilk ülke.

Bundan ötesi yoktu bende 2018’den önce. O kadar ülke gezmiştim ama şu İngilizlerin dünyasına girememiştim bir türlü. Sahi ne yer, ne içerdi bu İngilizler? Filmlerdeki gibi miydi hayatları? Hakikaten de dünyanın en gelişmiş medeniyetine mi sahipler?

İsviçre’de yaşıyorum ama ne İsviçre ne de İtalyan vatandaşlığım var. Dolayısıyla İngiltere’te gitmek için ben de her Türk vatandaşı gibi vizeye tabiiyim. Bu arada ”Hadi ya, bir İngiltere’te seyahat etmesek mi bu aralar?” şeklinde olmadı ilk seyahatim. Canım arkadaşım Bora’cığım yaşıyor orada. O da gitmiş Ankara Anlaşması’yla daha birkaç ay önce.

Onu ziyaret etmek, biraz moral olmak istedim. Hem ikimiz de Avrupa’dayız artık, gitmezsem ayıp değil mi? Hemen Stefano’ya sordum, gelir mi diye. Ama paşam İngiltere sevmiyormuş. O yüzden gelemezmiş. Sen şuna İngiltere’deki eski kız arkadaşımla yürüdüğüm yolları şimdi seninle yürüyemem desene! Ya da demesin, elimden bir kaza çıkmasın asdf

Neyse başta demiştim ya, bizim için Almanya neyse İtalyanlar için de İngiltere o diye. Bu İtalyanların İngilizlerle arası pek iyi değil gibi. İngiltere’ye gitmeyi ”basit” görüyorlar sanki. Bizim Alamancı mantığını, İngiltere’ye uyguluyorlar gibi geliyor bana. Çok İtalyan var İngiltere’de. Bu hoşlarına gitmiyor sanırım. Neyse velhasıl kelam, Stefano gelmek istemedi benimle. Onun yerine evde kalıp çalışmayı tercih etti. Ben de Bora’nın yanına gitmek için kolları sıvadım ve Zürih’teki TLS Contact acentasının yolunu tuttum.

İngiltere Vize Süreci

Aslında çok zor olmadı vize almak. Eminim ki İsviçre oturumuna sahip olmamın bir faydası olmuştur kolaylaşmasında. Ama İsviçre oturumum var diye farklı bir prosedür uygulanmıyor. Tamamen Türkiye pasaportu sahibi nasıl işlem yapıyorsa, o şekilde yaptım ben de. Sistemden randevumu aldım. Gerekli evrakları toparladım. Randevu günü ve saatinde vize merkezinde oldum. Kısa bir mülakata girdim ve eve döndüm.

Aradan bir hafta geçti geçmedi, pasaportum ev adresime gönderilmişti. Vizemi 6 aylık verdiler. Sevinçten ağlayacaktım. Ne kadar da güvendiler bana, ilk seferde 6 aylık vize verdiler diye düşünürken, zaten UK vizesinin herkese minimum 6 aylık çıktığını ve aslında bana o kadar da güvenmediklerini anlayarak hayal kırıklığına uğradım. Bir yıl falan vereydiniz ölür müydünüz acaba.

Hayır bir de pahalı, 300 frank falan tutuyor vize başvurusu.

Bu arada istenen evraklar klasik, iş yerinden kağıt, kaç para kazıyorsun aylık, otel rezervasyonu ve uçak bileti gibi belgeler. Ekstra bir şey talep edilmedi beni temin ederken zorlayacak.

Ve Londra’ya Vardım

23 Kasım 2018 gecesi Londra’ya vardım. Uçaktan indikten sonra uzunca bir süre pasaport kontrolüne girmeyi bekledim. Pasaport kontrolüne geldiğimde ise vizemi kontrol ettikten sonra parmak izimi almak istedi görevli pasaport kontrol polisi. Ama gel gör ki benim parmak izim yok!

Kendimi bildim bileli parmaklarımdaki derileri koparıyorum ben. Biliyorum çok iğrenç. İğrenç olduğu kadar da acı verici bir eylem ama maalesef içsel sıkıntılarımı kendime acı vererek dindiriyorum psikoloğuma göre. O kadar senelerdir yapıyorum ki bu işi, parmak izim yok benim artık. Yani var da bi acayip asdf. Normal parmak izi gibi çıkmıyor. Bu sebeple tam 40 dakika, bakın abartmıyorum tam 40 dakika parmak izimi almaya çalıştı polis. Ama başaramadık. Bir iz çıkıyor ama sanki rastgele karalamalar gibi görünüyor.

En sonunda birine telefon açtı polis. Benim duyduğum kısım şu;

-Bir turist var burada ama parmak izi çıkmıyor.

-Hayır, beyaz tenli (sanıyorum ki karşıdaki kişi siyahi mi diye soruyor)

-Eğitimli beyaz bir kıza benziyor.

Sonra telefonu kapattı ve geçebilirsin dedi. Beyaz olduğum için ve eğitimli göründüğüm için parmak izimi vermeden geçebildim!? Siyah olsaydım ne olacaktı? Dakika bir, gol bir. İngilizler hakikaten kendilerinin ve kendilerine benzeyenlerin (yani beyaz olanların?) diğerlerinden daha iyi olduğunu düşünüyor olmalı.

Neyse geçtim kapıdan. Trene binip Londra’ya geçtim.

Tower Bridge

Bora işteydi. O gelip beni merkezden alana kadar biraz dolandım ortalıkta. İlk durağım Tower Bridge’e yakın bir yerler olmuş.

İlk ziyaretimde Tower Bridge’e bu kadar yakınlaşabilmişim, daha sonra hiç gelmedim şehrin bu tarafına. Şehre son gelişimde ise ayrılmamışım burnunun dibinden sdfg

2. Gün – 24 Kasım 2018

İngiliz Kahvaltısı

Hayatımda ilk defa İngiliz kahvaltısı yaptım bir de <3 Şu aşağıdaki tabak. Tam tam benlik kahvaltı ya. Hele fasulye asfdf Genelde kahvaltıda fasulye fikri bizlik değil ama bu fasulyenin tadı tatlı, neredeyse reçel gibi. O yüzden çok güzel gidiyor sabah. Fasulyenin dışında yumurta, sosis, bacon, patates mücveri, mantar ve domates oluyor tabakta. Benim ilk İngiliz kahvaltımda domates ve patates mücveri yokmuş anlaşılan.

Greenwich

2. günümde ilk iş başlangıç meridyenini görmeye Greenwich’e gittim. Aşağıdaki fotoğrafta görebileceğiniz üzere sembolik bir çizgi koymuşlar ama, hayali bir meridyen bu tabii. Yani bu bölgeden geçiyor da tam olarak nereden geçtiğini bilmiyoruz. Yine de başlangıç meridyeninin üzerinde durup da poz vermese miydim?

Greenwich’teki Osmanlı Savaş Topu

Bakın Greenwich’te ne buldum!

Osmanlı Sultanı 3. Selim döneminde, 1790-91 yıllarında yapılmış bu bronz top. 5,2 ton ağırlığındaymış.

Birleşik Krallık ile Osmanlı Devleti arasında 1807 yılında bir anlaşmazlık yaşanmış. Marmara Denizi’ndeki Kınalıada’ya çıkarma yapan İngiliz donanması, bu adadan aldığı bu Osmanlı topunu İngiltere’ye götürmüş.

Sonra da dönemin Cumberland Dükü Prens Ernest tarafından 21 Ekim 1807 tarihinde Greenwich’deki Kraliyet Denizcilik Okuluna verilmiş. Seneler sonra ziyaretçilere açılan denizcilik okulunun girişine konulmuş.

Greenwich’e gidince bu Osmanlı topunu görmeyi hiç beklemiyordum!

Notting Hill

Başrollerinde Julia Roberts ve Hugh Grant’ın oynadığı Notting Hill filmini izlemiş miydiniz? Bana Stefano izletmişti. Normalde romantik film sevmeyen ben filme kelimenin tam anlamıyla aşık olmuştum! İşte burada çekilmiş o film 🙂

Sonraki ziyaretlerimde Notting Hill’e mutlaka gittim. Burası Londra’nın en sevdiğim semtlerinden biri benim için. Rengarenk evlere sahip sokaklar, cadde boyu dizili hediyelik eşya, kıyafet mağazaları, kalabalık, sokak yemekleri.. Londra’nın en sevdiğim 2. yeri diyebilirim. En sevdiğim yere de birazdan değineceğim 🙂

İkinci günümde Bora yine işte olduğu için tek başıma dolaştım yine sokakları. Ne kadar saray varsa tek tek gezdim. İçlerine girmedim ama. Sadece bahçelerinde yürüdüm, mimari yapılarına baktım. Kendimi o sarayda yaşayan insanların yerine koydum. Nasıl bir his acaba tüm İngiliz halklarının bu denli saygısına ve sevgisine sahip olmak diye. Sonra karar verdim ki hiç benlik değil. Bu saraylarda yaşayan prenseslerden olmak istemeyeceğim gibi, bu insanları taparcasına seven insanların varlığını kabullenmek de zor geliyor. Prens, prenses, kraliçe, lord, hakikaten 21. yüzyılda bunları mı konuşuyoruz hala? Size de ilginç gelmiyor mu?

Ayrıca aşırı kasvetli bu saraylar. İnsan neden yaşamak istesin ki burada? Şahsen ben, şehre bakan balkonlu bir apartman dairesinde yaşamayı tercih ederim. Mümkünse kimse bana sırf ünvanımdan dolayı saygı falan da duymasın. Kocaman koridorlarda tek başıma dolanmak zorunda kalmayayım. Bence bu kraliyet ailesi olayı aşırı şişirilmiş bir balon. Sembolik de olsa benim dünyayı anlayış ve yaşayış şeklime uymuyor. Ama yine de o bahçelerde dolaşmak çok keyifli. Çünkü ben özgürüm. Özgürlüğümün tadını çıkarıyorum. Onlarınsa tutsak olduğunu düşünüyorum.

London Eye

London Eye’a da uzaktan bakmışım aynı Tower Bridge gibi. Yakınına gitmemişim nedense.

Londra’ya ilk seyahatim çok acemi işi olmuş. Ama yine de hakkımı yiyemem çünkü Londra’ya asıl gelme sebebim Bora’yı görmekti. O çalışırken de mümkün olduğunca gezmeye çalışmışım yine.

Camden Town

3. günümüzü Camden Town’da geçirdik, bu sefer Bora da bana katıldı, yay!

Bu arada fotoğrafların kalitelerinin cidden çok çok kötü olduğunun farkındayım. Lütfen tüm blogdaki fotoğrafların bu kalitede olduğunu düşünmeyin asfg. Şimdilerde çok daha iyi fotoğraflar çekiyorum ama bunlar eski artık 🙂

Camden Town, mağazalarıyla, değişik barlarıyla, ve kanallarıyla ünlü bir semti Londra’nın. Fazla underground geliyor bana, o yüzden çok sevdim mi derseniz, çok sevmedim. Fazla ”serseri” mekanı gibi sdfjg. Yani ben lisedeyken bu kafalardaydım, şimdi farklı şeyler seviyorum ne yapabilirim.

Yine de Londra’ya gidip de Camden Town görmeden dönülmez, orası net.

China Town

Şimdi gelelim benim için gittiğim her şehrin olmazsa olmazı, ziyaret etmeden mümkün değil dönmediğim bölgesine. Çin mahalleleri! Allahım Çin mahallesi diye yanıp tutuşan bir ben varım ki sormayın, bu kadar mutlu hissedemem kendimi başka hiçbir yerde. Hayır yani Çinlilere de öyle özel bir ilgim yok. Ama yemeklerine var!

Tamam kabul ediyorum, yüzüm az önce yukarıda yazdıklarımın tam tersini söylüyor olabilir asddf ama inanın dünyalar benim olmuştu China Town’a varınca.

Bora da çok mutsuz görünüyor burada, kıyamam aksj Ama Bora’nın suratı bu genelde, sürekli küçük Emrah gibi dolanıyor ortalıkta. Hayır mutsuz olduğundan da değil, suratı öyle çocuğun yapacak bir şey yok haha.

Tayland yemeği yedik burada, Çin yemeği söylemedik. Ben yeni Tayland’dan dönmüştüm, hemen anılar tazelensin istedim o yüzden. Tayland’daki kadar güzel değildi ama bu da başarılıydı elbette.

4. Gün – 26 Kasım 2018

China Town

Son günüm, akşam üzeri uçağım var. Gitmeden önce haritamda işaretlediğim birkaç yeri daha ziyaret etmek istiyorum. Maalesef bugün Bora benimle değil, zaten 4 günün sadece 1 günü benimle gezebildi. Ama akşamları beraber kaldığımız için birbirimizi akşamdan akşama da olsa görebildik.

Sabah ilk iş China Town’u bir de gündüz gözüyle görebilmek için yola koyuldum erkenden.

Covent Garden

Ardından da, yukarıda en sevdiğim yerden birazdan bahsedeceğim dediğim ve daha ilk Londra seyahatimden en sevdiğim yer haline gelen Covent Garden!

Burayı gerçekten çok sevdim. Aslında burası büyük bir pasaj. Üst katında mağazalar, çiçekçiler vs var. Alt katta ise kafeler var. Alt kattaki kafeye cidden kalbimi bıraktım, çünkü sürekli canlı performans yapılıyor bahçesinde. Opera söyleyen sokak sanatçılarından tutun, dans gösterilerine, küçük orkestralara çok çok keyifli. Tüm gün gösteri izleyebiliyorsunuz kahvenizi yudumlarken. E tabii bahşiş vermeniz gerekiyor sonradan, bedava değil 🙂 Vermeseniz de olur tabii ama insan utanıyor, ben utanıp verdim her seferinde en azından ahah.

The Skyline Bar London

Ve eve dönüş yoluna geçmeden önce son durağım Skyline Bar oldu. 60 metre yükseklikteki bu bardan Londra’ya tepeden bakabiliyorsunuz. Manzarası çok da güzel gelmedi bana bu arada. Sanırım daha güzel manzaralı gökdelenler mevcuttur Londra’da. Fotoğrafta görebileceğiniz gibi terastan bakınca önünüz direkt manzara değil, önce katedralin avlusunu görüyorsunuz birkaç metre. O da geniş bir manzarayı engelliyor gibi geldi bana.

Burada bir bardak şampanya aldım kendime ödül olarak. Neyi kutladım bilmiyorum, Londra’ya veda ederken kaldırım şampanyamı 60 metreden havaya.

Pahalı bir mekan bu arada. Yerdeki barların 2 katı fiyatları.

Londra’da Nerede Kaldım?

Bora o dönem çalıştığı barın üst katında kalıyordu. Ben de mecbur onun odasında kaldım. O da başka bir arkadaşının odasında kaldı. Bana odasını verdi garibim. Bu arada Londra’da da kalmıyordu Bora o dönem. Essex’te bir köyde kalıyordu. Londra’ya varmak trenle neredeyse 2 saat sürüyordu. O yüzden sabahları Londra’ya gidip, akşam Essex’e dönmek bayağı bir zahmetli oldu benim için. Bir gece dönmeyip, Londra’da bir otelde kaldım. Diğer günler Bora’nın odasında kaldım.

Ama keyifli geçti orada da zaman. Akşamları çalıştığı barda takıldım ben de, müşterilerle tanıştım. Aksanları o kadar enteresan gelmişti ki ilk etapta, sohbet etmek biraz zorluyordu beni. Ayrıca Kasım ayının soğuğunda kızlar bikiniyle ve şortla dolaşıyorlardı. Bunu anlamam imkansız sjdhf kanları kaynıyor ok de hiç mi hasta olmuyorsunuz evladım. Üzerlerine hırka atasım geldi hepsinin.

Londra’da İsviçre Oturum Kartımı Kaybettim

Evet hem de daha ilk girişte kaybetmişim de fark etmemişim. Hani demiştim ya 40 dakika parmak izimi almaya çalıştılar diye. Hah işte o hengame içinde oturum kartımı almadan gitmişim. E İsviçre’ye döneceğim, nasıl gireceğim ülkeye oturumsuz?

Fark eder fark etmez havalimanına geri döndüm. 3 saat süren bir tren yolculuğundan sonra havalimanına vardım. Dedim benim kart sizde mi? Dediler bulunmuş bile olsa 1 haftadan önce kayıtlara geçmez. E benim o kadar vaktim yok?

Hemen Londra’daki İsviçre konsolosluğunu aradım. Durumu anlattım. O zaman vizeye başvurmam gerektiğini söylediler İsviçre’ye girebilmek için. Yahu ne vizesi, 2 gün sonra İsviçre’ye uçağım var, 2 günde olacak iş mi?

Tam uçtuğum günün sabahına randevu verdiler. Hemen koşa koşa gittim biometrik fotoğraf çektirdim önce. Sonra konsolosluğa gidip 90 pound ödeme yaptım ve pasaportumu teslim ettim. Dediler akşam üzeri çıkar vizen. Ne akşam üzeri, birkaç saat sonra uçağım var benim!

Dediler sen öğleden sonra gel, hızlıca işlemeye çalışacağız. Velhasıl kelam da öyle oldu ve son dakika taze basılmış vizemle beraber pasaportumu teslim aldım.

İsviçre’ye girişte vize ile girdim. Bana nerede kalacağımı falan sordular turist gibi. Ama neyse ülkeye döndüm ya sorunsuz, önemli olan o!

İsviçre vizesi nasıl alınır konulu bir blog yazısı yazmayı uzun süredir istiyordum çünkü en çok aldığım sorulardan biri bu. Aslında internette bu konuda çok fazla veri var, ancak bu yazımda sizin için aklınıza gelebilecek tüm soruları cevaplamaya çalıştım. İsviçre Vize İstiyor mu?

İsviçre, ülkesine seyahat edecek Türkiye Cumhuriyeti vatandaşlarından Umuma Mahsus (Bordo) pasaport sahiplerinden vize istiyor. Ancak eğer Hizmet (Gri), Hususi (Yeşil) ve Diplomatik (Siyah) pasaport sahibiyseniz 180 gün içerisinde 90 günü aşmamak kaydıyla vizeden muafsınız. Ama İsviçre vizesiyle ilgili araştırma yaptığınıza göre siz de benim gibi fakir ama gururlu bordo pasaportlusunuz demektir askjdf

İsviçre Avrupa Birliği Üyesi mi?

İsviçre her ne kadar Avrupa’nın göbeğinde de yer alsa, Avrupa Birliği üyesi değil. Ama bu Avrupalı vatandaşların ya da Avrupa’dan herhangi bir ülkeden vize almış bireylerin İsviçre’ye girmesine engel değil. Bunun nedeni de bir sonraki soruda.

İsviçre’ye Schengen Vizesi ile Gidilir mi?

Evet, İsviçre’te Schengen vizesi ile gidilir. Avrupa Birliği’nde olmasa da İsviçre Schengen bölgesinde yer alıyor. Bu da demek oluyor ki, Schengen vizesi olan herkes İsviçre’ye elini kolunu sallayarak girebilir. Üstelik bu Schengen vizesinin İsviçre’den alınmış olmasına da gerek yok. Siz örneğin İtalya’dan almış olduğunuz Schengen vizesiyle İsviçre’ye de, Schengen bölgesinde yer alan diğer ülkelere de rahatlıkla girebiliyorsunuz.

Eklemekte fayda gördüğüm bir diğer bilgi de, Avrupa ülkelerine turistik amaçlı yapacağınız tüm vize başvurularında size Schengen vizesi veriliyor. Yani Hollanda’dan da vize alsanız size Schengen vizesi verilecek, Almanya’dan da İsviçre’den de. Tek fark, her ülkenin başvuru sürecinde farklı beklentileri olabiliyor. Ya da bazı ülkeler daha sıkı araştırma yapıp, fazladan belge isterken, bazı ülkeler daha kolay vize verebiliyor. Ama aldığınız vize neticede hep aynı; Schengen vizesi.

Schengen Vizesini Hangi Ülkeden Aldıysam İlk Girişi O Ülkeye mi Yapmalıyım?

Maalesef kepimizin kafasını kurcalayan bu sorunun cevabı, evet. Schengen vizesi aldığımız ülkeye giriş yapmalıyız ilk olarak. Schengen vize rejimi yönetmeliği gereği, vizenin alındığı ülkeye ilk giriş yapma mecburiyeti bulunuyormuş. Örneğin, İsviçre için vize aldıysanız, Avrupa’ya ilk girişinizi İsviçre üzerinden yapmanız gerekiyor.

İlk girişi İsviçre’den yaptınız, peki ya sonra?

• Bu yalnızca İsviçre’de kalmak zorunda olduğunuz anlamına gelmiyor tabii ki. Çıkışı da İsviçre’den yapmak zorunda değilsiniz. Yalnızca ilk giriş İsviçre’den olmalı. İsviçre’den giriş yapıp, anında başka bir uçağa ya da trene atlayıp Fransa’ya gidebilirsiniz mesela.
• Bazen vizeyi sizin istediğiniz tarihlerden çok daha uzun verebiliyorlar. Mesela siz bir haftalık başvuruyorsunuz, ama vize 3 ay çıkabiliyor. Bu durumda da bu 3 ay içinde Avrupa’ya birden fazla gelmek isteyebilirsiniz. Bu durumda da mı her zaman ilk girişi İsviçre’den yapmanız gerekecek? Hayır. İlk girişinizi aynı vizeyle ilk defa seyahat ettiğinizde İsviçre’den yapmanız yetiyor. Geri kalan vizenizde Türkiye’ye dönüp tekrar Avrupa’ya giriş yapmak istediğinizde istediğiniz ülkeye gidebilirsiniz direkt olarak.

NOT: Aynı vizeyi birden fazla kez kullanabilmek için vize başvurunuzda ”ÇOK GİRİŞ” maddesini işaretlediğinizden emin olun. ”TEK GİRİŞ” işaretlerseniz Schengen bölgesine yalnızca bir kez girme hakkınız bulunuyor. Ama neyse ki bu konudan ileride bir kez daha bahsedeceğiz 🙂

İsviçre Vizesi Nasıl Alınır?

İsviçre vize başvurularının değerlendirilmesi için tek yetkili kuruluş İsviçre Konsolosluğu’dur. Ancak kısa süreli (90 günü aşmayan) turistik amaçlı vizeye başvuracaksanız, konsolosluk sizi direkt olarak kabul etmez. Bunun yerine yetkilendirilmiş vize merkezlerine başvurmanız gerekiyor.

Eğer 90 günden uzun kalacaksanız, yani oturma izni, aile birleşimi, çalışma izni gibi vizelere başvuracaksanız, direkt olarak konsolosluktan randevu almanız ve evraklarınızı konsolosluğa götürmeniz gerek.

İsviçre Vizesi Almak Zor mu?

Eğer istenilen belgeleri temin ederseniz, şaibeli görünen bir durumunuz yoksa ve maddi durumunuz talep ettikleri durumdaysa İsviçre vizesi almak zor değildir. Yeter ki talep edilen şeylerin hepsini karşılıyor olun.

Evraklar ilk etapta çok fazla gibi görünebilir, ancak tüm ülkelere başvuruda aynı durum söz konusu maalesef. Bu durum İsviçre vizesini değil genel olarak vize alımını zorlaştırıyor bence. Ama çok görünse bile hepsi kolayca bir gününüzü bile almadan hazırlayabileceğiniz evraklar.

İsviçre Vizesi Başvurusu Nasıl Yapılır?

İsviçre vize başvurunuz için direkt olarak konsolosluktan randevu alamıyorsunuz. Bunun yerine Türkiye’deki İsviçre vize başvuru merkezi olan TLS Contact üzerinden ilerlemeniz gerekiyor. TLS Contact web sitesi için buraya tıklayın.

Ancak konsolosluğa danışmak istediğiniz herhangi bir durum olursa istanbul@eda.admin.ch e-mail adresinden email ile direkt olarak konsoloslukla iletişime geçebilirsiniz. Ya da telefon ile arayabilirsiniz. Konsolosluk web sitesi için buraya tıklayın.

Yine de her türlü sorunuzu öncelikle TLS Contact’ı arayarak netleştirmenizi tavsiye ederim. Gerek görürlerse zaten sizi direkt konsolosluğu aramanız konusunda yönlendireceklerdir.

TLS Contact Web Sitesinden Adım Adım Başvuru Süreci

TLS Contact’ın biri Ankara biri İstanbul olmak üzere 2 merkezi bulunuyor. Size en yakın olan merkezi seçerek işleminize başlayabilirsiniz.

Ardından açılan sayfanın en altından ”Başvurumu Başlat” seçeneğini tıklıyoruz.

Başvurumu Başlat dedikten sonra, açılan sayfada ne için başvuruyorsanız onu seçerek gerekli bilgilere erişebiliyorsunuz. Örneğin aşağıda Aile ve Turizm seçeneğini seçtim. Aşağıda hemen bazı bilgiler ve indirilebilecek pdf dosyaları çıkıyor. Bu belgelerde de yine detaylı bir şekilde ne yapmanız gerektiği yazıyor.

Örneğin yukarıdaki sayfada maviyle ”Turistik” yazan yere tıkladığımda aşağıdaki belge açıldı. Burada size bir ön bilgi veriliyor. Formu nasıl doldurmanız gerektiğinden, hangi evrakları ne şekilde temin etmeniz gerektiğine kadar. Bunu bir checklist olarak kullanabilir, belgeleri tamamladıkça yanındaki kutucuğa tik atabilirsiniz mesela, ben öyle yapmıştım karışmaması adına, çünkü çok fazla belge talep ediliyor.

Ardından hesabınızı oluşturun.

Hesabınızı oluşturduktan sonra sağ üst köşedeki ”Hesabım” kısmına tıklayın. Açılan sayfada yazılanları dikkatli bir şekilde okuduktan sonra ”Bir Başvuru Oluşturun”a tıklayın. İstenen bilgileri girdikten sonra, ileriki adımlarda randevu günü alabileceğiniz bir sayfa açılacak. Buradan randevu alın ve istenilen belgeleri randevu gününe kadar hazırlayın.

NOT: Randevunuzu seyahat gününden minimum 1-2 ay almanızda fayda var. Pasaportun geri iletilmesi bazen uzun sürebiliyor ve uçağına da az kalmış bu kişinin, hadi acele edelim demiyorlar 🙂

-Ek olarak eğer çalışıyorsanız, iş yerinizden bir yazı alın. ”Bu çalışanımız şu süredir bizimle çalışıyor, İsviçre’ye şu sürede tatile gitmesinin bizim için hiçbir sakıncası yoktur” şeklinde bir dilekçe olabilir. Okuyorsanız da aynı şekilde okuldan bu tarz bir yazı almanızı tavsiye ederim.

Seyahat Sağlık Sigortasını Nasıl Alacağım?

İnternet üzerinden herhangi bir sigorta şirketini bulup, iletişime geçip hangi ülkeye gittiğinizi ve ne kadar kalacağınızı söylemeniz yeterli. Bu bilgilere göre size kalacağınız süre için poliçe hazırlıyorlar. Fiyatlar kalacağınız güne ve gideceğiniz yere göre değişiyor. Ortalama 20 euro civarı oluyor.

İsviçre Vizesi için Sponsor Mektubu Hangi Durumlarda Gereklidir?

Çalışmıyorsanız, ev hanımıysanız, öğrenciyseniz ya da yeterli geliriniz yoksa, İsviçre seyahatinizin masraflarını karşılayacak olan sponsorun desteği ile vize başvurusunda bulunabilirsiniz.

Bu durumda size finansör olacak kişinin mektup yazması ve bu mektupta tüm masraflarınızdan sorumlu olduğunu belirtmesi gerekiyor. Buna ek olarak size finansör olan kişinin gelir durumunu gösteren belgelerini, çalışıyor olduğunu da beyan etmesi gerek.

Size sponsor olacak biri varsa, sizin bankanızda ne kadar olduğu ya da iş durumunuz önem arz etmiyor.

İsviçre Vize Ücretleri?

Güncel vize ücretleri şu an (Nisan 2022’de) aşağıdaki şekilde. Ancak güncel fiyatları buradan kontrol edebilirsiniz.

Schengen Vizesi (90 Günden Az) 80 Euro / 1.350 TL

6-12 yaş için Schengen Vizesi 40 Euro / 675 TL

6 yaşından küçük çocuklar için Schengen vizesi ücretsiz

İsviçre Vizesi Kaç Günde Çıkar?

İsviçre vizesi başvuruları, başvuru belgelerinin konsolosluğa iletilmesinden itibaren 5 ile 15 gün içinde açıklanıyor. Bu gün süresi yoğunluklarına göre daha az ya da daha uzun da sürebilir. Bu sebeple başvuruları 1 ay önceden yapmakta fayda var.

İsviçre Vizesi Reddi

Ben de zamanında İtalya’dan red almış biri olarak, büyük hayal kırıklığı oluyor red almak ama maalesef bu kararı verebiliyorlar. Siz başvurunuzu yapıyorsunuz, tüm ücretlerinizi ödüyorsunuz, otel rezervasyonları, uçak biletleri ödenmiş oluyor. Sonra red gelince birden hem maddi hem manevi bayağı bir yaralıyor insanı. Peki red etme sebepleri genelde ne oluyor?

Eksik evrak yüzünden red verilmiyor öncelikle onu belirteyim. Çünkü eksik evrağınız varsa sizi arıyorlar ve eksik olan neyse en kısa sürede getirmenizi istiyorlar. Genelde sizin oraya turistik amaçlı değil de ülkede temelli kalmak niyetiyle gittiğinizi düşündükleri için red veriyorlar. Bana mesela öyle yapmışlardı İtalya için. Hatta direkt açıklama olarak ”senin buraya temelli kalmak için geldiğini düşünüyoruz, bu sebeple vizeni reddettik” yazmışlardı.

Maddi durumunuzu beyan ettiğiniz evraklar yeterli görülmeyebilir, daha önce ülkeye girişte kural ihtali yapmışsanız bu sebeple red verebilirler vs.

Sebep her ne olursa olsun bunu size yazılı, imza ve kaşeli bir mektupla bildiriyorlar. Akabinde siz de ya bunu sineye çekiyorsunuz, ya da itiraz mektubu gönderiyorsunuz. İkisini de yapmayıp yeniden başka evraklarla da başvurabilirsiniz.

Italy in 6 Days | Wedding Anniversary in Italy

Since the covid pandemic started, like everyone else, we stayed home and didn’t go out for months. We’ve both been working from home since March 2020. My family is in Turkey and Stefano’s family is in Italy. So we couldn’t visit them for a long time.

When it was August, we decided to go to Italy. We wanted to organize a small visit to see our family and celebrate our upcoming wedding anniversary.

Due to the pandemic, we didn’t make any plans. You know these days are unique. Cities that are open today may be closed tomorrow or strict measures may come. Switzerland had almost total lock down. Even commuting to neighboring countries seemed forbidden unless you had a reason. We don’t want to take risks by going to places where the Covid cases are very high. And we want to avoid going to crowded places in order not to put others at risk.

For this reason, we thought that we would go to Italy and decide according to the situation. And we went to visit Stefano’s family in Valdagno.

Valdagno is a commune in the Italian city of Vicenza. If it weren’t Stefano’s birthplace, this was a region I would probably never have known about. It’s actually very close to tourist attractions. It’s 1 hour from Venice and 40 minutes from Verona. But it!s not a very touristic area itself. However, as it is a great place to live. It’s also a great place to explore Northern Italy, staying in chalets with incredible views of the Italian Alps!

I wrote about my observations of Valdagno, the house we live in, the neighborhood, its interesting founding story, how it became the heart of the fashion industry, and how you can travel in the Italian Alps by staying in Valdagno. It’s here if you want to have a look!

For the first few days, we devoted ourselves completely to our family. We missed them so much! I was very happy that we could spend time with Stefano’s family after many months, but I missed my own family so much that I couldn’t help being jealous of Stefano. I must admit haha.

After spending a few days together, we decided to go somewhere. This was a great opportunity, because the touristic places were all empty! We said let’s go wherever the road takes us and we jumped in the car and hit the road. We followed the below route, which took 6 days in total and traveled Italy in an accelerated way from one end to the other.

1. Day: Padova

First day, we wanted to take it slow and we departed after lunch. We set out for Padova to visit Filippo (Stefano’s childhood friend and my wedding witness) and his girlfriend Greta.

Since the University of Padova, the 5th oldest university still operating in the world, is located in this city, the city is full of students and former students who stay and work here when the school is over. It would be very accurate to call Padova a student city.

It was almost 5 pm when we arrived in the city. First thing, we picked up Filippo from his work and went to the center of the city. Since Greta’s shift wasn’t over yet, we sat at a bar and had a drink until she arrived. We didn’t have much time here, so I left Stefano and Filippo alone for a while and wandered around. I was probably gone too long, so that when I was back, I found both of them worrying that I was lost haha.

It is not a very big city. Even if you can’t spare a full day like us, you should definitely see the city center, sit in a bar and drink a cup of coffee or Aperol Spritz.

We met with Greta around 10 pm. She is a doctor and she works long hours during the pandemic. But she was able to leave work for us at 10. We went to their favorite restaurant and had dinner together. We didn’t get to spend much time because Greta’s eyes were really bloodshot from exhaustion. After the meal, we took one last city tour and agreed to meet for breakfast in the morning. Stefano and I went to Filippo’s house and Filippo went to Greta’s house.

2. Day: Arezzo – Assisi – Sirolo

On the first day, we couldn’t really travelled the city, as it was actually a visit to friends rather than Padova. In order to get to know Padova better, we will definitely be staying at least 3-4 days on our next visit.

We went to a café near the house for breakfast at 7 am. Filippo joined us, but Greta had to go to work early, so we couldn’t see her again. While we were planning about where to go during breakfast, we didn’t want to go south without visiting a few historical cities on the way, and we decided to visit Arezzo and then Assisi.

We left Padova at around 8 am and arrived in Arezzo after 3 and a half hours.

Arezzo is an important city in Tuscany, Italy. Rich in art and dating back to the Etruscan period. It can be planned with Florence as it is only 1 hour away from Florence.

We walked around the streets of this city built on a hill. And since it was not possible to spend time in closed areas (museums, churches, exhibitions, etc.) due to the pandemic, we wandered around the historical streets, among the stone buildings and cobblestone roads. The streets were filled with markets and street vendors selling works of art. The city has a very large square. There was also a flea market set up on the top of the city. After walking around the flea market for half an hour, we made our way to a café that made Arezzo’s famous sandwiches, for lunch. The sandwiches of this city are famous. But I think it wasn’t that good or we didn’t choose the famous sandwiches, I don’t know.

After lunch, Stefano wanted to go to the nearby city Assisi. We jumped in the car and arrived in the city after a journey that took about an hour and a half.

Assisi is a city built on a hill in the valleys of a mountainous area in the Umbria region of Italy. If you make an itinerary where you will travel more than one route, we recommend that you add Assisi to your list of destinations.

It’s a small city, has a sweet little square and a very beautiful view that you can see from anywhere in the city. Since we could only spend half a day here, I cannot say that we fully understood the spirit of the city. For this reason, Assisi has entered our list of places to return to after the pandemic.

The most important symbol of the city is St. Francesco as he was born in this city. Therefore Assisi is not only a holy city, but also visited by thousands of pilgrims every day.

As it’s an important pilgrimage point for Christians, you feel yourself in a completely different atmosphere while walking in the city. Everywhere is full of religious symbols, all the streets are filled with statues of Jesus and figures of the Virgin Mary.

Believe me, I would not be exaggerating if I said that there is nothing non-religious even when you want to buy souvenirs.

Other than that, there wasn’t much that caught our attention. But I’m sure I would be saying very different things now if we could get into their museums and churches. Because even in Italy’s most non-touristy and least-known towns, one encounters such works of art that you can really burst into tears at the beauty of those works.

I don’t know what exactly this city might be hiding because of the pandemic. That’s why I can’t wait to visit every region we visit on this fast route once again without the pandemic and to get to know the cities not only by their streets but also by what they hide in their hearts.

So, after spending- around 2 hours in Assisi, we got in the car and started to think about our next route. My goal from the very beginning was to go to Bari, but we gave up because we heard that it was incredibly crowded despite the pandemic. Plus it takes sooo much time to go there. We still decided to go to Puglia region, but to other cities not to Bari. Then decided to spend the night in Sirolo to be close to the beach.

After about 2 hours of travel, we arrived in Sirolo. We chose the first hotel with availability on booking.com and settled in our room. Let’s say it’s more like a motel than a hotel, because it was right on the roadside where truck drivers could take a break haha.

After settling in the hotel, we went down to the beach for dinner and tried to enter all the restaurants one by one. But they all were completely full! They took reservations for 11 pm the earliest. So we decided to go back to the hotel and eat pizza at the hotel restaurant.

The waiter in the hotel restaurant was from Northern Italy. So Stefano and him got into a hometown chat lol. During the entire meal they chatted about the differences between Northern Italy and Southern Italy haha.

After we drank the grappas offered after this nice conversation, we went to our room and set our alarms for 5 in the morning and fell asleep.

3. Day: Sirolo – Rodi Garganico

We woke up early in the morning and left the hotel. We’re finally going to swim today! As a sea lover, I was incredibly excited to swim in a sea, after living in a landlocked country like Switzerland for a while. Yes, historical cities, cultural trips etc. are very nice, but I’m one of those people who prefer to swim all day in the sea until my hands are soft because of the water!

That’s why we excitedly drove to a place that I wouldn’t hesitate to call the most beautiful beach of Sirolo: Sirolo Sassi Neri Beach!

On this 6-day trip, we swam in a few more places, including the island of Capri, but I still choose the water of this beach over. We stopped by a market before entering the beach and bought some snacks and lots of water. Then we took a walk towards the beach.

We put our umbrella and towels on the sand and spent time here until the evening. When swimming a jellyfish stung me. I was in pain for a few hours, but it was still worth it! ! Stefano is not someone like me who can lie on the beach all day. Let him sit for an hour, he will start running around as if he has ants in the pants. Especially since he likes mountain walks, he went to the surrounding hills from time to time and took pictures.

We packed up towards the evening and set off for Puglia.

The next day, we decided to stay in Rodi Garganico, in the north of the peninsula, as we wanted to travel from one end of the Gargano Peninsula to the other. We arrived at Rodi Garganico after a 4 hour drive from Sirolo.

When we arrived at Rodi Garganico, we found a small but cozy family hostel and stayed there. Owners were very sweet people. We didn’t want to go anywhere for dinner because we were so tired. We had to go many kilometers for the nearest restaurant. Unfortunately, we couldn’t have dinner because the kitchen of the hostel was closed. We had a snack with the leftovers from the market during the day and fell asleep to gather energy for tomorrow.

4. Day: Rodi Garganico – Peschici – Vieste – Salerno

We woke up to the alarm at 5 am and left the hostel and went down to the beach of Rodi Garganico. It was such a beautiful view.. We were just in time for the sunrise. We walked on the beach and enjoyed the sunrise. Photos have no filters. I think the most beautiful filters in the world are sunrises!

Without wasting much time on Rodi Garganico, we went to Peschici which is just 15 km away. It’s one of the most beautiful towns of the Garganico peninsula.

It was still very early (it wasn’t even 7), everywhere was still closed and the streets were empty. We walked all the streets of the city freely since no one was there. It’s a very cute city. I’m sure it’s chirpy when people are around. At this hour of the morning, there were only people who had just opened their shops.

We found a small cafe in the heart of the city and we had breakfast. I don’t remember the taste of the coffee, but the cornetto was delicious.

Peschici actually has very beautiful beaches, but since we were more curious about the beaches in Vieste, we went to Vieste right after breakfast.

When we drove about 20 km to the south, we parked near a cove called Spiaggia dei Colombi. We went down the slope to the cove. There are two beaches where you can swim in this cove. Neither of them belong to any facility. You can reach the first one by walking by land, but you can go to the most beautiful part only from the sea.

We took our stuff and went through the water to the second cove. This cove is completely covered with sand. It’s quite shallow so that the elderly locals of the region are walking on the water for hours. While we were swimming, there were many people walking in the water around us.

After spending a few hours in this beautiful bay, we left the beach to wander around the city of Vieste. The city is built on a hill, slightly larger than Peschici. Again, there was no crowd due to the pandemic. After touring the city, we went down to the beach and found a nice restaurant. Since this place is famous for seafood, we got the mixed seafood platter.

After dinner, we went to other bays that we marked on the map in the evening to swim a little more. The famous Italian mafia is so well settled everywhere that it is almost impossible to enter some bays without being ripped off.

For example, someone who comes to the door of a FREE beach that we want to go to, puts his chair and collects money at the entrance. (Since it’s free to enter most of the beaches in this area, parking in front of the beach is also free normally) You don’t want to give the guy money as you know it’s free. The man either threatens you or says okay, come in. But when you return, you can find your car scratched or broken.

It didn’t happen to us, but we hear that such things happen a lot. And if you read the Google comments, you will definitely come across the comments of someone who had problems before going to the nearby bays. The important thing here, of course, is not the 5 Euros to be given. You can say I’ll pay for it, no problem. But this is why these people continue to ask money in free places and they will continue as long as people keep paying them.

We found a cove where it wasn’t blocked by these guys finally. But it’s good that we didn’t stop at other bays because I don’t think I’ll ever see a better bay than this one! Look at this!

This cove is called Spiaggia di Cala della Sanguinara. To get down to the cove, you have to take somewhat difficult walk down. There is no road built by the municipality to walk down. You have to go through the forest. The only problem is that the path is often very narrow even for a single person and you are always on the edge of the cliff.

If you are not afraid of heights, and if you have your good pair of sneakers with you, you won’t have any problems. Don’t walk in slippers please. Oh, but haven’t we seen traveler and hippie moms and dads who tie their children on their backs and come down with their squeaky slippers? Of course we did! lol. But are we one of them? I’m definitely not, haha.

While looking for a way down, we came across two Italian girls. They wanted to go down, but they couldn’t dare. We asked if they would like to come with us. But again they were afraid to go down, so Stefano decided to go ahead and find the easiest route. We waited for Stefano to return.

Stefano came back 15 minutes later with the easiest route in his head. Stefano was in the front, the girls were in the middle, and I was at the back. Girls were soo afraid but they still followed the path. Unfortunately, one of them fell twice and even rolled down once. I don’t remember how we got her up again lol, it was all too stressful and fun at the same time. I guess we would have arrived at the beach in 10 minutes without the girls, but it took 25-30 minutes when we went together.

Finally we went down to the beach, and threw ourselves into the sea.

The girls for some reason didn’t swim, they didn’t even take off their clothes. I think the road made them both very tired and very tense. They waited for us to swim. We didn’t get out of the sea for an hour. Later, as they were getting dressed and getting ready to go back to their cars, the girls said they wanted to go up together or they would be stuck here. It was impossible not to accept it as we’ve seen their performance on the way down :p

Again, Stefano was in the front and I was at the back, checking the girls and we went up. Fortunately, no one fell on the way back. Going up is much easier. On the way back, we saw a car that fell down and turned upside down in the forest. Nobody came to take it. It just stands there.

We jumped in the car and drove straight to the east coast, to the city of Salerno. Our plan for tomorrow was to tour the Amalfi coast. We found a nice pizzeria in Salerno and we tried the tomato sauce-free pizzas special to this region. It was delicious, a must try when you visit Salerno.

In the evening we found a Bed & Breakfast by Salerno port and stayed there. It was time for the most exciting stops of our tour. To the famous picturesque towns of the Amalfi coast!

5. Day: Salerno – Amalfi – Positano – Sorrento

We woke up very early again in the morning and started touring the Amalfi coast. Traveling on these roads by car is such a different experience that I can’t describe it! I felt like in old Italian movies! Magnificent hills on our right, colorful houses lined up on the hills, a deep blue sea on our left, ethnic Italian music playing on the radio. Finally now we can celebrate our wedding anniversary!

Our first stop was Amalfi, the small and charming town of the Amalfi coast.

While complaining about the lack of people due to the pandemic in Peschici and Vieste the previous day, Amalfi had turned into a paradise due to the pandemic. I haven’t been to Amalfi before, but as far as I know from those who visited, it’s an extremely crowded place. People line up to take pictures in the most famous places, restaurants are packed, even walking down the street is torture.

But it was a completely different experience for us. Because we are in perhaps one of the most beautiful seaside towns in the world, and the town almost belongs to us! Of course there were locals, and we weren’t the only tourists. But still, it was so calm and so beautiful everywhere. I’m glad we decided to go during this period.

After wandering around Amalfi, the city center and the coast, we drove to the place I was most curious about and wanted to go to for a long time: Positano! The most beautiful seaside town in Italy!

Oh my God, how beautiful.. I mean, I’m not normally affected by cities like that, but this city literally amazed me with its beauty. You are looking at the city, as if you are looking at a painting. As if it couldn’t be real! And imagine there are no tourists around, so the whole city is ours!

We walked around the city, the coast, every corner of it. We swam on the beach and sipped our wine while watching the houses on the hill. We felt like the happiest people on earth.

We found a market in the city that sells fresh produce. You go to the market and choose what you want, and they put it inside a fresh bread and make sandwiches for you. We grabbed out sandwiches, sat on the stairs and had a nice break.

We don’t like to spend a lot of time in restaurants on such trips. In general, we prefer to eat something quickly during the day, travel and see as much as we can. We always use our right to spend a long time in the restaurant for dinner. And since the hustle and bustle is over, it is more enjoyable.

We set the sun in Positano, chose the place where we would stay for the evening and went to Sorrento.

Since we had a romantic day in Positano, we decided to have a romantic evening as well. And we gave ourselves a nice evening in a hotel with a jacuzzi with the sea view and the famous Vesuvius volcano that wiped Pompeii off the map. Happy 5th anniversary of our marriage!!

6. Day: Sorrento – Capri – Pompeii – Caserta – Valdagno

We woke up early in the morning and took a short tour of the city of Sorrento. I was incredibly excited to be on the island of Capri in an hour, so we never got tired after a long tour of Sorrento.

We went to the ferry port and started to wait for the ferry to arrive. It was full of people trying to sell you a boat tour. If you happen to say ”hi”, then there’s no way that they let you go haha. I had a long chat with one of them. My purpose was to have a conversation and spend some time while waiting. But we made him talk so much that we couldn’t say ”no, we don’t want your boat”.

In order to escape, we said ”oh, we don’t have a hat, let’s go get it, we’ll decide on the way back, you wait for us here” and ran away from the pier. We went to the place where the bazaar is and bought a hat lol. Since we are the two types who can never say no, we exaggerated the shopping (because we can’t say no to the shopkeeper either lol), we somehow went back to the pier and entered the ferry without being seen by the salesman haha.

It takes 25-30 minutes to get from Sorrento to the island of Capri. When we got to the island, we first decided to go on a boat tour, visit the bays and swim. We chatted with the locals who do private boat tours, and jump on the boat of an old man who we found the most reliable. And had an island tour that lasts for 2 hours.

There was only me, Stefano and the captain on the boat. The fridge was filled with champagne, prosecco, whiskey and beer. Heaven

Captain was born and raised here, he told us the story of everything. We stopped at the most beautiful bays and watched the fish and corals with sea glasses. We swam in the famous Blue Grotto cave with its deep blue and phosphoric water.

We watched the Faraglioni rocks, the most iconic view of the island of Capri, and passed through the hollow of the rock.

I was sitting in the car looking for hotels on the internet to decide which hotel to go to. All of a sudden we both looked at each other and asked, “Do you think what I’m thinking too?” Eventually, we realized that we wanted to go to Pompeii directly, didn’t wanna stay in Capri. Pompeii closes at 6pm, it took us 3 hours to arrive. We only had 3 hours to see the city.

We were so tired that we decided to take the ferry from Capri to Sorrento, drive from Sorrento to Pompeii, then walk in the sun for 3 hours in Pompeii lol. We weren’t going to drink that last Prosecco…

But I’m very happy that we got to Pompeii. Even though we were very tired at the end of the day, it was pleasant to be in Capri in the morning and in Pompeii in the evening.

Pompeii is a city that is still partially buried. After that enormous explosion on Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, the whole city remains under the ashes. The city remained buried for 1700 years and was accidentally rediscovered in 1748. The shape of the people, the houses remained intact. You can see the last movements of the people of this city, which was buried that day, at the time of death. It’s an interesting feeling.

Pompeii was empty due to the pandemic too! Like a joke!!! This is something that would be impossible any other time. However, while we were walking alone in the streets of Pompeii, in the shadow of Mount Vesuvius, we could feel the historical and mystical texture of the city more deeply. It was an amazing experience. I don’t know how to describe it!

Pompeii closed around 6, so we decided to go to Caserta, which is famous for its pizza. We went to a very famous restaurant and it had a queue despite the pandemic. But a complete disappointment for us. Because we couldn’t love the Napolitano pizza. But since there are more people who love it than those who don’t, we usually keep this comment to ourselves in order not to make people angry too much haha.

We picked up the phones to decide which hotel to stay at after dinner. We were both incredibly tired. We were a few days away from returning to Switzerland and we both wanted to spend some more time with the family. But we didn’t say it so, not to upset each other. I was the first to break the silence and ”I want to go home!” I said. And Stefano’s reaction was ”I thought you would never propose it!” After dinner, we took the road.

I keep saying that we were very tired. But on top of that tiredness, we drove for 7 hours to reach Valdagno! Because why not?

When we got home in the morning, they were quite surprised. They didn’t expect us so early. But they were very happy to see us. At that moment, we realized that it was worth it that we had been on the road for hours. We slept peacefully that night.

We stayed a few more days and returned to Switzerland. To celebrate our 5th year, we traveled in Italy in a rather accelerated way. But it wasn’t bad!

If you want to go to Italy for your anniversary, I especially recommend the Amalfi coast. More specifically Positano. I know it’s a very touristic area, but believe me, it’s worth to visit even if it’s too crowded.

With palm trees that look like they came out of an artist’s palette, colorful houses lined up along the coast, Michelin-starred restaurants, and beautiful cafes in the Old Town, Switzerland’s southernmost city with a Latin ambiance: Ascona!

Like Locarno right next to it, Ascona is located on the northern shores of Lake Maggiore. Known for its Mediterranean-style architecture and the promenade lined with cafes on Lake Maggiore, the city of Ascona is one of Switzerland’s most worth-seeing resorts.

We visited Locarno as the first stop and then moved on to Ascona. Since the distance between Locarno and Ascona is only 2 km, you can easily travel to both cities in the same day on foot.

How to Get to Ascona? Ascona Transportation

Getting to Ascona is very easy. All the transportation information I gave for Locarno also applies to Ascona, as there is only 2 km between them.

If you’re traveling within Switzerland, you can reach Ascona by high-speed train.

The distance between Zurich and Locarno is about 200 km. You can easily cross from Italy to Locarno. Since you will already be traveling in Europe with your Schengen visa, you can enter from neighboring countries without any problems.

Getting by car

If you want to travel by car and if you are coming from the northern side of Switzerland, you have to cross the Gotthard Tunnel. You enter the tunnel by car through the town of Göschenen in the German canton of Uri, and exit through the town of Airolo in the Italian canton of Ticino. Thanks to this 16.9 km long tunnel, the road between the south and north of Switzerland is shortened by half an hour. Before the tunnel was built, it was necessary to go over the mountains through the Gotthard Pass.

However, as this tunnel can shorten the journey, it can also make it longer. On crowded days, you may encounter terrible traffic and be stuck on the road for hours. If you try to go in the direction of Italy on Friday evenings and in the direction of Switzerland on Sundays, you will be stuck in traffic. It’s a good idea to stay away from the Gotthard tunnel on the weekend.

When you arrive in Ascona, you can park your car at Autosilo Comunale Ascona or Posteggio Lungolago. If you can’t find a place, there are many parking spaces nearby. Since the city is small, they are all very close to each other.

Getting by train

You can buy your train tickets here. If you buy tickets in advance (even 1 day before), you have the chance to get discounted tickets from this site. Otherwise, you can purchase your tickets directly from the ticket machines at any train station or from the SBB offices.

If you are coming from the direction of Zurich, you may usually need to transfer in Bellinzona. The journey takes an average of 2 hours.

If you are coming from Italy, for example from Milan, you can still get your ticket from the website of SBB, from the link I shared above. It takes 2 hours 45 minutes from Milan to Locarno.

Public Transportation within the Canton of Ticino

When you stay in Canton Ticino, they will give you a Ticino ticket valid for the duration of your stay. With this ticket you can use all public transports in Ticino free of charge. If your hotel forgets to give you your free transportation ticket, be sure to remind them, get your transportation ticket from your hotel.

Places To Visit In Ascona: 7 Places You Must Visit In Ascona

1. Lungolago Di Ascona

Ascona is a beautiful city where you can just sit on a bench and watch the lake and mountains. So just as you get off the train or park your car, go to the lakeside “Lungalago di Ascona” and walk along the beach, then sit on a bench and watch the view. In addition to walking on this palm tree-lined coast, you can swim in the beaches or in the pools at the lakeside facilities.

2. Piazza Giuseppe Motta

When you go down to the lakeside, you will immediately see the G. Motta Square. There are many restaurants and cafes around the square. You can see the narrow cobblestones and the colorful houses that are the symbol of the city.

3. Borgo Old Town

Wandering around the historic part of town, which can be easily found by the lake, you’ll soon discover small but charming streets of narrow cobblestone streets and shuttered houses. This is Ascona’s shopping district. You can find everything from ice cream to clothing, from souvenirs to luxury watches here.

It’s actually a few meters between the first three places I’ve mentioned on this list because the city is incredibly small. But still, I have stated separately so that you don’t miss any point.

4. Saints Peter and Paul Church

This church doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the sculptures and frescoes inside are really worth seeing. If you are interested in art and history, don’t miss these works.

5. The Brissago Islands

The Brissago Islands are the botanical parks of the Canton of Ticino. The small island (Isola Piccola) is naturally covered with vegetation. On the big island (Isola Grande), which was opened to the public in 1950, mostly subtropical plants from the northern and southern hemispheres are grown.

You can easily reach the islands by boat from both Ascona and Locarno. Check out here for the boat times and departure places. If you have a Ticino transport card (you can get it for free if you stay anywhere in Canton Ticino), it costs CHF 4.90, otherwise CHF 7.

6. Small Tourist Train

The easiest and most enjoyable way to see the city’s highlights can be this small tourist train that tours Locarno and Ascona. During the tour, you can listen to the history of the city. For this 30-minute journey, you need to buy the tickets when you get on the train. Tours run from March 19 to October 24, with the first tour starting at 11 am.

7. Jazz Ascona: Ascona Jazz Festival

This vibrant festival celebrates its 36th anniversary in Ascona and is one of Switzerland’s largest jazz festivals. If you want to participate in this festival, which starts in the last week of June and lasts for 10 days, you can arrange your visit at the end of June or the beginning of July.

When to go to Ascona

Ascona can be visited at any time of the year, but the best months to get Mediterranean air in Switzerland are from June to October. The hottest months are July, August, and June, respectively.

We ate at the restaurant of the hotel we were staying at, Ristorante Al Braciere. The food was incredibly delicious. Since it was the chestnut season, there were chestnuts in all dishes. And since it was hunting season, venison was on the main menu. They have a very good chef. Although chestnuts were included in every meal, we loved all the dishes without getting bored and without getting the same taste. Even if you’re not staying at this hotel, we recommend that you dine at its restaurant.

Pinsa Romana Recipe – What is Pinsa Romana?

Pinsa Romana is a type of pizza that is similar to traditional pizza, but different in terms of preparing techniques and dough material. The term Pinsa comes from the Latin word “Pinsere” which means “to spread”. So the pizza dough is elongated and spread by giving an oval shape.

Its full name is “Pinsa Romana” because it was built by the Romans in the past.

What is the Difference Between Pinsa and Pizza?

The apparent difference between Pinsa and Pizza is the shape. Pizza is made in a completely round shape, while Pinsa is made in an oval or sometimes even rectangular shape. However, when you look at the details in dough making, you can see the real differences. Because while only wheat flour is used for pizza dough, pinsa dough is made from a combination of soy, rice and wheat flour. This makes Roman Pinsa a much healthier alternative to traditional pizza.

Ingredients for Pinsa Romana Recipe

Ingredients for Pinsa Romana Dough

• 3 and a half cups of wheat flour
• Half a glass of rice flour
• Half a glass of soy flour
• 1 and a half – 2 glasses of cold water
• A tablespoon of olive oil
• 1 tablespoon of salt
• Half a teaspoon of dry yeast

Ingredients for Pinsa Romana Sauce

• Tomato sauce (not tomato paste, you need to use canned tomato sauce. If you wish, you can make your own tomato sauce.)
• A pinch of oregano or thyme
• Olive oil
• Salt
• Black pepper

Ingredients for the Pinsa Romana Topping

• Mozzarella cheese

You can prepare this part as you wish. Our favorite was rocket and fresh cherry tomatoes. You can prepare it with mushrooms, sausage, salami or vegetables.

How to Make Pinsa Romana?

Making Pinsa Romana Dough

• Sift the wheat flour, soy flour and rice flour into a bowl.
• Then add the salt, yeast and olive oil.
• Make a hole in the middle and add cold water gradually and knead until you get a slightly sticky dough.
• Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
• After 30 minutes, knead a little more and rest for another 30 minutes.
• You have to do this resting and kneading process 3 times in total.
• Cover the dough you kneaded for the third time, and leave the dough in the refrigerator for 24 hours to rest.
• The next day, take the dough out of the bowl and divide it into two parts.
• Form both pieces into balls.
• Put the dough you have formed into balls on an oiled baking tray and sprinkle some rice flour on it.
• Cover the dough with a cloth towel and wait 1 hour for it to rise a little more.
• Then, pour a pinch of olive oil on the dough and rub it with your fingers from the center to the sides to form an oval shape.

Preparation of Pinsa Romana Sauce

• Mix all sauce ingredients.

Pinsa Romana Cooking and Combining Phase

• Spread the pinsa sauce with a spoon on the dough you have opened on baking paper.
• Then sprinkle the grated mozzarella cheese evenly.
• Add the ingredients you want, depending on your preference.
• Put the pinsas in the oven that you have preheated at 230 C and bake until the dough is golden brown.
• Your pinsa is ready!

Switzerland is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Although it generally attracts tourists with its cold climate, winter holidays and mountains, Switzerland actually has a small but warm city with a Mediterranean climate and Italian beauty: Locarno!

Locarno is the town with the warmest climate in Switzerland. October was almost over when we visited Locarno and it was raining. Despite the bad weather, we felt as if we had come to a summer town in Italy. You feel like you are in Italy rather than Switzerland, as the city is only 13 km away from Italy.

You enter the tunnel by car through the town of Göschenen in the German canton of Uri, and exit through the town of Airolo in the Italian canton of Ticino. Thanks to this 16.9 km long tunnel, the road between the south and north of Switzerland is shortened by half an hour. Before the tunnel was built, it was necessary to go over the mountains through the Gotthard Pass.

However, as this tunnel can shorten the journey, it can also make it longer. On crowded days, you may encounter terrible traffic and be stuck on the road for hours. If you try to go in the direction of Italy on Friday evenings and in the direction of Switzerland on Sundays, you will be stuck in traffic. Places To Visit In Locarno: 9 Places You Must Visit In Locarno

1- Lungolago di Locarno

Locarno is a beautiful city where you can just sit on a bench and watch the lake and mountains. So just as you get off the train or park your car, go to the lakeside “Lungalago di Lorcarno” and walk along the beach, then sit on a bench and watch the view.

In addition to walking on this palm tree-lined coast, you can swim in the beaches or in the pools at the lakeside facilities.

2- Old Town – Piazza Grande

After completing your tour on the lake, head straight up to the old town. You will find the city square Piazza Grande which is surrounded by perfectly restored 19th-century buildings. You can also visit an open-air market, which has been a tradition since 1164 and is held every Thursday.

Also, as I mentioned before, when the International Film Festival is held in this square every August, the square turns into a complete open-air cinema. You can go to Locarno in August just to attend this festival.

3- Madonna del Sasso

Now let’s talk about the most interesting part of Locarno. According to legend, this place of worship on the Locarno rocks was opened upon the appearance of the Virgin Mary to Bartolomeo, one of the monks of the Locarno monastery. The temple is also one of the most popular pilgrimage destinations.

To get to this church, which is located at an altitude of 370 m above sea level, you have to climb a path with stairs that will take about 20 minutes.

Along the way, there are chapels representing the breaks Jesus took while walking with the cross on his back. You should definitely go on foot because the scenery is excellent along the way. And it’s interesting because it’s a path where pilgrims walk.

However, if you don’t want to walk, you have the option of the funicular here.

4- Visconteo Castle Archaeological Museum

In January 2004, Italian historian Marino Vigano said that this castle may have been designed by Leonardo da Vinci. And it was accepted as a Da Vinci project after 7 years of work.

Castello Visconteo, now an archaeological museum, is located right next to the old town. Today, only one-fifth of the original building from the 15th and 16th centuries remains, the rest has been rebuilt.

5- Camellia Park

In these charming gardens by the lake, you can stroll among the camellia flowers in spring. The park is home to 850 kinds of flowers.

6- Verzasca Valley

The Verzasca Valley has wide trails of about 300 km. You can take a walk in the lake, participate in the activities on the sports tracks, and take mountain walks.

If you are an adrenaline junkie, you can do bungee jumping. Just like James Bond did in the opening scene of Golden Eye. From a height of 220 meters, you can jump between the narrow rocky walls of the mouth of the Verzasca Valley. (I can’t even dream of it haha)

You need to spend a full day in this place. If you don’t have that much time, you can tour Locarno early in the morning and move on to the Verzasca Valley before noon.

7- Moon and Stars Music Festival

If you have your trip in July, a magnificent music festival will welcome you. Moons and Stars Festival is not only the biggest festival in the Southern Alps but also the most atmospheric! The city square is turned into a concert venue and world-famous artists come to this festival.

8- Lake Maggiore Boat Tours

You can take a boat to the villages, ports and cities on the other side of Lake Maggiore.

Locarno is an Italian-speaking lakeside town in southern Switzerland on the shores of Lake Maggiore that is at the foot of the Alps. Ascona is also one of the most beautiful towns in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland, right next to Locarno. In this article, while talking about our short weekend trip with my husband in Locarno and Ascona, I will also be sharing my recommendations on what to see, visit, stay, and taste.

Romantic Weekend in Locarno and Ascona

When I opened my eyes Stefano wasn’t sleeping next to me. I checked the time, saw that it was 4 in the morning. The hall light was on. I asked what he was doing. He said that since we’ll be away for the weekend, he had to do some work and finish a few errands, so he got up early. (I later learn that he got up early to decorate the house, and then went out and bought a birthday cake.)

We have to leave the house at 8 o’clock and catch the train. I woke up at 7 am to the sound of the alarm. First thing I want to do is go to the kitchen and make coffee. But I go to the bathroom before I can fill the coffeepot as Stefano hurries me to the toilet. When I come out, he greets me with a small cake and an envelope. Well, guess it’s my 30th birthday today!

I don’t know why, but since my childhood, I was looking forward to turning 30. I waited for this day as if I would experience an incredible enlightenment and discover the meaning of life. It’s as if I will have jumped another level in life, I will come out of the cocoon as a butterfly. Of course, none of them happened. And I feel like I’m getting smaller somewhere inside.

When I opened the envelope, there was a card inside. 14 items on the card, and they were all covered with a piece of paper. At that moment, a police siren sounded from the surrounding. “You’ve been caught aging too fast. You broke the speed limit by crossing the age limit of 30. You are under arrest!” Stefano started to shout lol. “If you want to be free, you must successfully complete all 14 missions on the card.”

He organized the whole weekend put every single activity on the card. I spent 2 days just sticking to what was written on the card, not knowing what our next plan was. A police siren suddenly sounds in the middle of the street, everyone including me is looking around, trying to understand where the sound is coming from. It’s Stefano of course where the siren sound comes from haha. ”Fulfill your 5th duty or you will end up in jail,” he says.

Here’s this guy turned 32 2 days ago lol.

My father used to go into my grandmother’s wardrobe, put on her wigs, put on her clothes. And while we were all sitting in the garden, he would suddenly enter the garden, scaring us all. I guess women really choose men as husbands who look like their fathers haha.

Anyway, Stefano is always the same story as my father. We took the card in our hands, we are going through it item by item. We arrived in Ticino, the Italian region of Switzerland. We got off the train in Locarno, the northernmost point of Lake Maggiore.

I can’t tell you how happy I got because it would be nice to get a little bit of Italian air after the cold weather in the German part of Switzerland.

It takes about 2 hours between Locarno and Horgen, the town we live in. Horgen is 15-20 minutes from Zurich by train. For those who will start the journey from Zurich, it will take 2 hours or 2 hours and 15 minutes, depending on the train you take.

Locarno and Ascona

It was 10 o’clock when we arrived in Locarno. We entered Caffè Locarno right next to the Locarno train station to have breakfast.

Cappuccino was really delicious. You can understand that you are one step closer to Italy just from the taste of cappuccino, especially after the coffees around Zurich,!

But the croissant was unfortunately not very good. The reason why it didn’t meet our expectations was when we ordered a croissant, we had hoped that they would bring Italian-style croissant ”cornetto”, but they brought Swiss-style “gipfeli“. Stefano and I are not big gipfeli fans. If you prefer Italian croissants like us, make sure to order “cornetto”. If you say “Croissant“, they bring gipfeli. Another thing is that they put powdered sugar on the cornettos. If you want your croissant completely salty, you should prefer gipfeli.

The first thing that caught my eye after breakfast was Chicoree women’s clothing store. I wanted to go on a shopping spree since it was almost half the price of Zurich. But Stefano had other plans so we left it for the 2nd day.

After walking a bit around Locarno center, we visited Madonna del Sasso. Although it’s only 1.4 km from the center, the Madonna del Sasso temple is located on the hill and is 370 m above sea level, where you can see the whole city. You have to climb stairs to reach the church.

One of the most important things about this church is that it is an important pilgrimage destination, and another is that there are sculptures and paintings of works such as Lamentation of Christ and The Last Supper.

After visiting the church and its small museum, we went out and watched the city of Locarno from above.

It was almost 1 in the afternoon and we were pretty hungry after walking nonstop for several hours. I took another piece of paper from the card and we went to L’Archetto to eat the Roman-style pizza “Pinsa Romana“, which I will call it world’s most delicious pizza from now on. I bet you can’t have a tastier pizza than this!

These pizzas are made in Roman style. It’s a tiny place. He has 2 tables in his garden. It seems that his main business is take away. The pinsa is very delicious and has a different taste. I liked it so much that I immediately got the recipe! I’m linking it below in case you want to try it at home!

Pinsa Romana Recipe

We decided to leave Locarno and walk slowly to Ascona. The distance between Locarno and Ascona is only 2 km, so you can easily reach it on foot. We started walking slowly and getting lost among the most beautiful colors of autumn.

Ascona feels more like a seaside town than Locarno. You realize that you are still in Switzerland, but at the same time it resembles the small lakeside towns of Italy. There weren’t many people on the streets, probably because of the pandemic. It was almost empty everywhere. This situation didn’t bother us much, as it was suitable for our romantic weekend concept haha. We should come back on summer to enjoy the city to the fullest.

We sat on the benches for a while and watched the ducks. We went to the ice cream shop on the corner and got an ice cream cone. Ice cream shop is a place called L’ Angolo dei Golosi, right by the lake in the center. I’m sorry to say but the ice cream was bad 🙁

I need to say that I compare it with the ice creams in Italy. Not too bad by Swiss standards haha. But it’s just not acceptable for an ice cream to be this bad just a few kilometers from Italy!

Just a bit further away, there is an ice cream shop called Gelateria Pippo. I found it later when I was looking at Google reviews. There was long queues in front of it. You might try this one. Let me know if you do so!

After walking by the lake, we toured the city. After all, both Locarno and Ascona are so small that you can go anywhere in one day. Then we headed to the hotel where we were going to stay for the night. Since I was pretty tired, I insisted Stefano take the public transport. However, I naively believed him because he said, “We’ll reach there in a maximum of 10 minutes on foot.” Guess what happened? We had to walk for at least an hour and a half through the forest, soaked in the rain and bogged down in the mud. I say ‘we ”had to” because once we started climbing those steep roads of that forest, we had to move forward because we couldn’t risk slipping and falling while trying to get back in that mud!

Being stuck in the forest with Stefano on this trip, just like in every other trip? Done!

Imagine how much I swore at him on the way lol.

But in the end we came to such a beautiful hotel that all my tiredness was gone!

The name of the hotel is Panorama Hotel Elisabetta. I definitely recommend you to stay here. The hotel has such an amazing view. At first, we couldn’t really understand the scenery because it was foggy. It looked like this;

However, after a while, the landscape evolved into this;

All we had to do was to enjoy the view from the balcony of our room. :p

We had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, Ristorante Al Braciere. Since it was the chestnut season, there were chestnuts in all dishes. And since it was hunting season, venison was on the main menu. They have a very good chef. Although chestnuts were included in every meal, we loved all the dishes without getting bored and without getting the same taste. Even if you’re not staying at this hotel, we recommend that you dine at its restaurant.

The next day, we got up early in the morning and had breakfast at the hotel, as our train back home was in the afternoon. By the way, during your stay at the hotel, the hotel gives you a free public transport ticket. With this ticket, we took a bus in front of the hotel and returned to the city center of Ascona.

Stefano offered to walk back, but it was incredibly rainy! That’s why, without wandering around too much, I visited Chicoree to complete the work I left unfinished yesterday and did some shopping!

Even though we had breakfast 2 hours ago, we went to the Roman pizzeria again and I had a another pinsa. Stefano couldn’t eat, but I always have a bit space in my stomach for a good pizza! I ordered the same as yesterday.

We walked around in Locarno a bit more. Then we got on the train and headed home.

Thus, we have come to the end of our short trip and birthday celebration.
