This Zürcher Geschnetzeltes dish from the city of Zurich in Switzerland means “Zurich slicing”. This Zurich-style sauteed meat with cream and mushrooms has a very tasty and practical recipe. Swiss people prepare this recipe from veal, pork, chicken or turkey meat as well as game meat during hunting season.

Ingredients for Zürcher Geschnetzeltes

  • 600 grams of beef cut into strips
  • A few shallots and one regular onion
  • 250 grams of thinly sliced mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon of flour
  • 200 ml white wine
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 200 g of cream
  • 1 teaspoon of grated lemon
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley

How to Make Zurich-Style Meat Saute with Cream and Mushrooms?

  1. Heat the pan and add the butter.
  2. Put the meats into the pan that is heated over high heat and remove it from the pan before leaving the juice.
  3. Reduce the heat of the stove, put the onions in the pan and saute lightly.
  4. Add mushrooms and cook a little.
  5. Then add flour and mix well.
  6. Add the white wine and boil.
  7. Then add the cream and boil a little more.
  8. Add the lemon peel and spices and mix.
  9. Add the previously cooked meat to the sauce and meat. Cook for a few more minutes.
  10. Sprinkle parsley on top and serve immediately.

How to serve Zürcher Geschnetzeltes?
